Shit. Thanks guys, I've just seen the advisories from mherger in my email (too late!) and I suspect this is exactly what's happened to me. I had limited remote access to one external IP (my office) on my previous install, but I then realised I might not have carried that setting to the new install. So I closed all open ports on the router, but further unprompted switch-ons occurred after that so it seems the server is well branched. Under the circumstances I might be better nuking from orbit and starting over.
I used to depend on promiscuous remote access to my LMS but nowadays I have my whole library on my phone so I think I'll just keep it private in future. Secure access invariably requires a fair amount of dicking around on the remote client, often requiring privs the provider won't give. Using SqueezeSlave (homebrewed with the Java MP3 plugin bundled) with SSH was an option I used in the past, but the client having a JRE is less to be relied upon these days. Thanks mherger for the heads-up, I only wish I read my email more religiously! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Havin_it's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12661 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107659 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
