Yesterday, as I was preparing to download and install the new Spotty plug in, I tried to upgrade LMS to most current 7.9.1 version. I ended up getting this error message:
"Service logitech media server (squeeze svc) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I have tried to reinstall previous LMS versions - including 7.9.0 which was previously running fine - and I get the same error. I am running my LMS (at least I was yesterday!) on a HP MediaSmart EX485 with Windows Home Server (original). I don't know if this is significant but when trying to install the LMS there is a flash screen which says: "Waiting for Logitech Media Server to stop." Interesting because no LMS is currently installed to stop! I greatly appreciate if somebody can help and point me in the right direction. Thanks!
