I once had a vinyl rip where certain tracks would not play on my Transporter, but played fine in Foobar2000. I was completely stumped until I loaded the files into Audacity and noticed at the top that the filenames had funny non-standed characters associated with them. The characters would not show up on Windows or any other player. So I ended up renaming the files and all was good.
