Did you check the QNAP forum? Basically you just download SSOTS and install that 'manually' from the app manager, and then follow instructions to install 7.9. There is some issue with the fact that BASH version is vulnerable and technically should be upgraded which is a bit of a fiddle, but if you only use your NAS internally (i.e. Do not expose externally) then you probably do not need to worry about that. Yes it will take a couple of hrs but once installed it just works. You could also put it on a RPi and use the NAS as a file server to a Pi based LMS but that's hassle too imho and another box. Upgrades to LMS require you to rename the downloaded file but again this is straightforward. Instructions in the QNAP forum are very good. If you get stuck ask for help.
