El Zombie Forgive the parts that are already familiar to you in this endeavour, but this is how I used to do it on a Qnap TS121.
A quick précis: I assume that you have the correct v7.2.2 already installed on the Qnap. My suggestion is to do some basic configuration and play back, say Radio Paradise, just to check that it works. Then open the SSOTS web gui and stop LMS. Download this file and place it on the Qnap nas in the Public Share. LMS is already stopped Restart LMS. I stopped using my Qnap (ARM processor) over 12 months ago and now run it on a Raspbian Stretch-Lite rpi3b. Much better. Or the picoreplayer.
