The "Local Player" plugin should work with the caveat that you need to
tell it which audio interface to use.  You may need to edit a
commandline somewhere to specify this.

Sorry, I can't be more helpful on that.  I simply download the latest
Squeezelite-win build, copy it to a folder on my PC, and use NSSM to set
it to start as a service.  You can specify all the commandline switches
in NSSM.  Runs invisibly in the background without issue.

Another option is the Windows systray app discussed elsewhere on this
forum:
