Well - reinstalled from backup image. Made no difference. Still get the dpkg error.
Somethings strange with max2play - there's no LMS server info (eg. status) - looks as if there's no server running. Yet, LMS is there and working - just can't update it. I can't face a total max2play reinstall at the moment - so I'll just live with the problem.
