A powered hub is probably the way to go with multiple usb thingies . SSD drive for the music is not necessary, unless you have found some with exceptional low power draw ? And maybe you can omit the powered usb hub .
I second that the Touch itself is a terrible server a rpi3 3B would be much better . Also if run a rpi3 with picore player you can use it as a player to it runs Squeezelite and LMS , iether get a digi+ output hat card or actually using an USB out on the pi ? So a rpi3 could be good as a server and you could experiment with its own usb out and omitting the SBT as a player. The OS on a raspi runs from an mini SD card , get a really fast one . IMO also having the music on SSD seems overkill after the initial scan is done itÂ’s only storage , or do you think the motor in a normal drive will be audible from your listening spot ? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
