A powered hub is probably the way to go with multiple usb thingies .

SSD drive for the music is not necessary, unless you have found some
with exceptional low power draw ? And maybe you can omit the powered usb
hub .

I second that the Touch itself is a terrible server a rpi3 3B would be
much better .

Also if run a rpi3 with picore player you can use it as a player to it
runs Squeezelite and LMS , iether get a digi+ output hat card or
actually using an USB out on the pi ?

So a rpi3 could be good as a server and you could experiment with its
own usb out and omitting the SBT as a player.

The OS on a raspi runs from an mini SD card , get a really fast one .
IMO also having the music on SSD seems overkill after the initial scan
is done itÂ’s only storage , or do you think the motor in a normal drive
will be audible from your listening spot ?
