I'm a little late to the party in this somewhat old thread, but because it has been so quiet for a while, hope this won't be considered a hijack attempt. Here's another laugh: I'm still running LMS 4.3.4 on a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo v.2. Please wait a minute while I go blow the cobwebs off it . . .
My thinking -- which happens every time I decline the prompt to update all the way to 4.3.8, laugh again -- is, if it ain't broke, why fix it? The only thing I'm using the NAS for is to store and play my extensive music library over my AV system, using a SBT, or outdoors using computer speakers plugged into a Amazon Fire with angryGoat's SB Player app installed. It all works flawlessly. Some day when the NAS or SBT finally dies (like my Duet did, a blessing, considering how finicky it was to keep it connected) THEN I'll figure out how to set up one of these Raspberry Pi devices. Is there something wrong with my thinking? Is there a reason I should update LMS on the NAS to whatever is the latest version it can handle? Oh, last, a shout-out to kidstypike for the nice photo of the Doppler radar golf ball. Reminds me of the one I hiked past near Keld. And I've been up on Kidsty, too! Cheers to all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please Me Squeeze Me's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49037 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108135 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
