I tried a newer version, same problem.. LMS just wouldn't take any media location other than on the same PC.. So I did a thorough clean and reinstalled v7.7.6 again, the vrsion that did work before today.. hey presto.. it take network shares... and scans them for media files... At last success. So now I have to reconfigure all the various folders and plug-ins which I had been using and tweeked just right.
