Since the log says "no direct streaming" which is unusual as direct
would be normal for an MP3 stream - it looks like your system is doing
some transcoding or proxied for a reason.
Enable player.source to DEBUG and show the log which the trasncoding
command line is being used.
Please clarify are you playing the BBC MP3 streams ?
What sample rates are supported by your players ? (e.g does the
squeezelite command line specify which rates are valid or does it depend
on output device - if output device what rates does output device
support )
