I suspect that the rescan might be triggered the moment I start iPeng.
Could you please set logging options for the scan (from the dropbdown list at the top), and for control.command=INFO (not DEBUG!). Then do whatever you did when the double-scan happened. Upload the server.log.zip to https://www.dropbox.com/request/T3RctyzGgNg0oFDubq6a.
And don't forget to disable the logging once done. It will create a lot of data...
