Nothing in the log but problem solved. Found a 10-year-old reference to Windows Media Player not liking recordings in Audacity at 48KHz. Drop Audacity down to 44.1KHz & all is well. Yet for some bizarre reason 48KHz is still the Audacity default.
No idea why that's a problem for LMS & not assorted other players though.
