It looks like

Code:
--------------------
    sudo nvram boot-args="darkwake=0"
--------------------

has worked for me. This *might* be a function of your exact Mac hardware
and OS. I am running LMS 7.9.1 on a late 2009 27-inch iMac with macOS
10.13.6 with a wired LAN connection. (Some of my Squeeze players are
wireless and they wake the LMS just fine.)

The "darkwake" stuff seems to be only lightly documented (or maybe I am
a very bad googler) but what the command above seems to do is disable
the brief (~30-60 second) "mini-wake" that previously occurred by
default on my platform when a network access attempt was detected.
YMMV.

You only need to issue this command once; the effect survives reboots
and power cycles -- as one would expect with an NVRAM parameter
setting.

If you do ever reset your NVRAM, you probably will need to re-issue the
command above.
