If you want to run LMS on a NAS then currently you can choose QNAP or Synology. Both have unofficial but up to date LMS apps.
Alternatively you can buy any NAS and a Raspberry Pi. Install piCorePlayer and LMS on the Pi and point it at the music files on the NAS. Works very well and is very well supported here.
