The reason a switched to make a new Browse Mode is that you seem to have changed the definition of -Artists- about a year ago, and it did not work any more. Does -Artists- include -Album Artists-? And now, If I search for B (in your Artists), the first B is Bü, not Ba.
The "new" behaviour (much older than a year :-)) is more configurable than before. Go to Settings/My Music. There you can define whether you want to have one artists list, which can be configured, or two distinct Artists and Album Artists.
