Thanks everyone! Your advice and this thread indicate that this is possible, but perhaps not desired (plus, I never got it to work). I'm going to tackle this a different way. I have already mounted my NAS and access those music files with max2play. Since I can 'see' that mountpoint/drive, I set up sync software to sync all the folders I need from google drive to my NAS. Yeah, it's duplicate storage, but storage is cheap and now I can point, click and play. Less stuff to manage and no lag/latency.
