Look for a plugin called Playlist Manager. This will let you create a playlist and then add tracks to it as you want. Its best used with a Control app such as iPeng but is now exposed in the Material skin. You select a track and click more and then there is an Add To ... option. You dont have to be playing the playlist in question.
