...and just to clarify, mp3 files can be played back just fine on my Touch, Radio, and via iPeng local playback.
Then I'm wondering what problem you actually have. You say you can't play mp3 on some players. Are those players not capable of playing mp3? Would you need to transcode? I think there is no rule to transcode mp3 to anything. This is not a lame issue, but rather a *bridge plugin issue.
