When I opened the plugins tab in LMS the update was visible at the top of the page and the checkbox next to it was unchecked. I deliberately left it unchecked then clicked on apply at the bottom of the page. LMS restarted and installed the update even though I did not check the box. Is that expected behaviour? It seems to ignore the checkbox completely.
