It would be convenient for me to be able to run LMS on a Raspberry PI4 running the recently released 64 bit Ubuntu. I believe that I would need to use the aarch64 version of LMS.
Things are a bit more complicated: support for a given platform is a combination of Perl version & CPU architecture. On aarch64 we do have binaries for Perl versions 5.24, 5.26, and 5.28. If your Ubuntu is running one of these, then that's already promising.
Secondly, will my necessary 3rd party plugins work in this environment ? In particular I need Spotty and BBC iPlayer (both of which I think include some binaries).
There's indeed a spotty binary available for aarch64. Feel free to download and unzip http://www.herger.net/_data/SpottyAARCH64Bin-0.30.0.zip. Then try to run the spotty-custom binary from that archive.
