This worked for me, too.
Bizarrely, having updated to LMS 8.0.0 two days ago, with everything working, it was only this morning that the "xxxxx needs to be updated to a newer version of Logitech Media Server" message appeared on my Squeezebox Radio. Thankfully, a quick Google search found this page, and the solution worked perfectly first time on both devices. It's a shame it's not easier to discover new major releases of piCorePlayer and LMS. LMS 8.0.0 appears to have been released extremely stealthily. That said, I'd been wondring why my LMS system had not given me any update notifications for a few weeks. And, of course, let's point out how brilliant it is that my Squeezebox Radios are still going 10 years on from first buying them.
