So I understand the WHS V1 add-in won't run on WHS V2. Or am I wrong about that?
You're right.
What do I run instead? Does the normal Windows version of LMS run fine on WHS V2? Will LMS start from server boot without me needing to login?
Yes, you can install LMS as a service.
My server is unwell and I am examining options. A Raspberry Pi does not
Is WHS2 really an option? Isn't it based on... Windows Server 2003 or something?!?
cut it, because a) I know nothing about running Linux and am not interested in learning, and b) I have other software I want to run on the server that is Windows only.
I'd still recommend running it on a Pi (using piCorePlayer). No to very little Linux knowledge required, then running standalone, no matter what other services you decide to run on your Windows box.
