Actaully, after looking a bit closer, there is no issue with the Alexa integration or the mysqueezebox menu.
The problem turned out to be a corrupted entry in mysqueezebox.com favourites. Not sure what station it was for or how it got there, can't ever remember entering it, but I rarely use mysqueezebox unless my server is down, so it could well be a long defunct station from years ago. Anyway, removing that favourite station, all works fine. The corrupted entry was the problem. So, Michael, you were correct in that I was trying to "fix" this the wrong way round.
