You say you "guess" no scanning has happened. But it's trivial to be sure, right? Are there no tracks in your library? Anything in scanner.log?
Just double checked: mp3, flac, flac with cue sheet, it's all there. Just because it's faster than code from many years ago doesn't mean it's broken :-)
