A radio remote with USB dongle that emulates a keyboard should be possible as well ... but it would be driving Squeezelite or Jive ... which in turn would talk to LMS.
For example ... I have a B&W USB speaker that came with its own wireless remote ... and it works to control Jive on a Joggler. Limited functionality (Volume and Pause/Play and maybe Next / Prev).
