Maybe a couple of days stabilisation was required.

Now have run for multiple days using a remote server, windows and also a
Linux implementation, and using PiCore only as the player.

Further experimentation today and now running 10+ hours of play using
PiCore as player and server.

I’m so pleased. Sound quality is fantastic, using usb dragonfly, and
stability is now great after difficult start. Took me a while, and with
help from members here, to get the setup correct but now it’s working so
w3ll. And in addition I’ve got the lubuntu tried and tested as a backup
server.

Both lubuntu and pi are so much quicker than Windows! 35 mins for a
total scan on 12000 tracks on those platforms versus 8 hours on Windows
10 running on 8th gen i3 intel.
