So, I installed the Version Comparison Fix back in March, and my two SB Radios are operating fine ever since.
However, I have recently noticed that in LMS' Information tab, I see the following in Player Information: Information on all identified devices connected to Logitech Media Server You seem to be using a Radio with an outdated firmware, not recognizing this version of Logitech Media Server. Please consider patching it. 'Get more information.' (http://picoreplayer:9000/html/docs/radio-compatibility.html) Also, the server log file displays: [20-07-28 16:33:22.0511] Slim::Networking::Discovery::getFakeVersion (129) You're using a Radio with a buggy firmware not recognizing this version of Logitech Media Server. Please consider patching it. Until then we'll try to play nice and return a fake version number... See https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/blob/public/8.0/README.md#sb-radio-and-logitech-media-server-8. I'd have hoped that the fix would have eliminated these messages. Or is this just expected behaviour? And it got me wondering what the SBR firmware bug actually was? Was it a genuine bug, or was it simply that SBR does a server version check and errors on a LMS version that doesn't appear valid (in this case 8.x)? In which case, does the "version patch" patch the SBR firmware to make it happy with LMS 8.x. If so, are the messages I'm still seeing above because LMS sees the SBR firmware version (7.7.3-r16676) and assumes it's broken, because it has no way of knowing that the version patch has been installed? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ AlecSp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42763 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111777 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
