I will try a summary: I can reproduce a case where LMS does not close this first "scanning" Http connection. This occurs in case the server accepts the connection, but does not provide an audio stream. Player state remains buffering, and LMS does not close its connection. No matter what I do afterwards, the connection remains unless the server side closes it or LMS is restarted. And: it is http. Whether it is MP3 I am not sure, but I think you will find out reading the server logs attached above.
