My first time now But have used Squezebox since 2012 without problems. But now I'm stick with 7.9.2 due to this problem while updating.
Stop the tray icon before installing the update. If that doesn't help, uninstall LMS before updating. Make sure you don't tell the uninstaller to remove your prefs etc.
