Yes, with a Squeezebox Radio. Your report is reminiscent of an issue that arises with ogg flac streams, where the transcoding rule in -convert.conf- for ogg/flac streams does not carry a resampling specification, so a 96kHz stream fails due to the Radio's maximum advertised 48kHz rate.
