Usually those 2 pin plugs were for output to a speaker not input from an
Aux source.

A 5 pin DIN was fairly common - e.g. for a stereo tape recorder

Also - SB2/3 has Analogue output via 2 phono sockets - which you can
plug into an old amplifier - including via various passive cables to
route to - for example - a 5 pin DIN.
