Thanks for taking the time to respond and for the information, Paul. When I installed my system on 19th Nov onto a new NAS the version I installed was v8.0.0 - 1605619275. After a bunch of nightly updates to v8.0.0, on the 22nd Nov, the system upgraded itself to v8.0.1 - 1606059084. I played no part in the decision making around that upgrade; indeed I wasn't aware of it until yesterday. Again after a bunch of nightly updates to v8.0.0, yesterday morning (2nd Dec), it again upgraded itself, this time to v8.1.0 - 1606829767; and again this was not a decision I played any part in. I would be delighted to get back to v8.0.0 or v8.0.1 as I have insufficient knowledge or skill to contribute to 8.1.0. My IT chops are all in business systems and big iron. My immediate problem is that I don't know how to go about regressing my system to 8.0.x without simply starting again. I had some issues with the original install process... adding QNAP Club to my NAS didn't work so I didn't have a qpkg to install. After tooling around in the forum for a while I found a link to a LMS qpkg and that is what I installed (which is maybe how I ended up with a self-upgrading system). QNAP Club still doesn't load anything so I'd have to go through all that again, I guess. Unless someone can point me to directions for installing from a TGZ file ? My secondary problem is that I don't know how to go about stopping the system from spontaneously upgrading itself and so avoid getting locked into a cycle of upgrade until broken then reinstall, which I really don't want. I'd be very grateful for some help with either of those problems.
