I managed to narrow the problem down further. Indeed the behaviour is the same if i now use Ubuntu LTS 14.04 with Squeezboxserver 7.9.3.xxxxx or with Ubuntu LTS 20.04 with the latest Version 8.0.1.xxxxx Squeezeboxserver. MP3 Strams or Podcasts will not start. The only Radio that is always present for the LMS, is a Squeezebox Radio that is connected via WLAN. All the other Players are typically switched off by a relay in order to coserve Power when nobody uses them. This resulted the only WLAN Player being the Master Synch for all the LAN attached players around, which wasn't ideal. Therefore I installed the LocalPlayer plugin on my Homeautomation/Squeezebox Server which then would always be running and synch all the other players when they come on as well as being the central player always available for the Text To Speach module on the Homeautomation. In order to narrow it down further, I took the LocalPlayer out of the synchronisation. Since then it works for all the other players again on both Software Version setups. The only player not capable to play these MP3 streams are the 2 LocalPlayers on both setups. Both LocalPlayers are Version 1.65. I've logged the start sequence trying to start a Podcast from SRF3 for a LocalPlayer and a PiCore Player and attached them to this post.. The way it looks, I'm having a transcoding problem. When there is an mp3-mp3-* method available (PicorePlayer), the podcast starts and when this is not available (LocalPlayer) the Podcast doen't start. Can somebody point me to where I could change that in the LocalPlayer configuration and how I could do this?
