I updated to 4.4.6 and couldn't play any song on Spotify:

Are you sure it's the version which makes the difference? There are very
few changes outside the library importer between these two. I'd rather
think it was (un-)lucky timing. Most issues these days stem from the
fact that Spotify keeps rate limiting Spotty users. Which you could work
around by creating your own Client ID.
(not to mention that your LMS is almost three years old and comes with
totally outdated SSL support - do yourself a favor and update it)
