The original poster's question has been resolved, but maybe it's worthwhile to chime in here. I hope so, anyway. I haven't used the built-in random mix recently, because I prefer the greater control that the Dynamic and SQL Playlists plugins provide. But I think I recall it worked the same way. If I'm in the Dynamic Playlists menu and I PLAY one of the playlists, it behaves as expected: the current playlist is cleared, the specified number of tracks (10) are added to the empty playlist, and it begins playing. After each track concludes, another track will be added to the playlist. However, if I APPEND (ADD) the Dynamic Playlist to the current playlist, it simply adds the ten tracks to the end of the current playlist, and no further action is taken. No more tracks will be added. But if I add the Dynamic Playlist to my Favorites, I can usually append the favorite to a running playlist and it will work the way I want it to: a placeholder is added to the end of the playlist. When the placeholder reaches the "now playing" position, the playlist is cleared and then the Dynamic Playlist plays as expected, continuing to add tracks until it stops. Occasionally, this doesn't work as expected, but I've never worked out the circumstances that coincide with the failure. Again, I am not certain that the built-in Random Mix works the same way, but I think that was the way it worked the last time I tried, several versions ago.
