I'm running 8.0.1 and have the following behaviour related to Tidal solely... I have no problem with songs ripped to my HD on the server.
This thread is about LMS 8.1.1 - which you should install before anything else. I actually added some code today to enforce LMS 8.1 if you want to use TIDAL.
