I'm on Ubuntu Servev 20.04 and don't have this issue. As a matter of
fact, I've just restarted it because it indicated that the Castbridge
plugin was updated. That to me is the great advantage of the
notification on the start page: it indicates which plugin, whereas the
popup on the Settings->Plugins pages doesn't.
