I was running the server through a Synology ds215j and it worked well
for years, I found that the recent updates were not effective for it and
changed to a basic Netgear that was available and speed difference was
staggering.  The Netgear was so much quicker with the Logitech server. 
Synology was sold to me as "the" media NAS; is okay for films (with its
cool apps for your devices and TVs etc...) but was in retrospect was
pants for Squeezebox.  8.2.0 runs like a Ferrari on the Netgear compared
to the Synology was rev counter style display would go red when you
tried re-scans etc...
