I too have found that my Touch, which is the only player I was using,
was turning itself on/off at random times.  I put this down to the age
of the Touch and the fact that the rear section has/had become sticky
which was affecting the connections, as they too had become sticky from
the breakdown of the rear panel.  I've cleaned up then rear using
isopropyl alcohol.

Perhaps, I was wrong in my assumption and that the turning on/off at
random times is being caused by something else entirely.

I have actually purchased a third party player, because I wanted to
continue using LMS and I had accepted the Touch may have come to the end
of its servicable life.
