That is an unexpected outcome.
I guess the first things to look at are network performance figures on the RPi - perhaps using iPerf. Easy thing to check though would be to connect the RPi to the saw LAN-over-power adapter with the same cable that the Vortex box was using just in case it is an issue with LAN cable or router port.
