Okay, I was talking to Deezer support for two hours today, and it turns
out the issue was with my account, apparently the API simply will not
update my account to play flac, so just for fun I tried to create a new
account with 1 month trial of hifi, and lo and behold, hifi works and my
Touch plays flacs via Deezer. So I have simply shut down my old account
and am now using the new one with hifi. Awesome so far! However, having
used Tidal in the meanwhile (also a hifi trial), I must say Tidals sound
quality is better. Tested with their hifi setting (not master) to make a
fair comparison, their files just sound cleaner, crisper and more
dynamic. I didn't think there could be a difference on flacs, so using
Uncle Google I found this interesting article. From their conclusion I
would say Tidal has done the flacs the right way.
