I have all of my music stored on an external USB drive. I point LMS to my music folder, but it won’t import/scan. Just about all my music in Apple lossless files.
You'll have to go to the preferences and grant perl and perl5.18 full access to your file system. There are some related threads here about LMS on Mojave and other version names.
