I've now rolled-back my VM to the previous day and everything works correctly again.
So to summarise, this is my current setup: Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.1 - 1610364019 @ Thu Jan 14 06:22:21 CET 2021 Hostname: av01 Server IP Address: 10.10.10.41 Server HTTP Port Number: 9000 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux Perl Version: 5.30.0 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi Audio::Scan: 1.02 IO::Socket::SSL: 2.067 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0) Total Players Recognized: 2 If I then upgrade LMS via: wget https://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/8.2/lms/75cb45fc8fdcd7d735e66627f19fbfd55d3fd75b/logitechmediaserver_8.2.0~1624871911_amd64.deb (although I used 27th not 28th) dpkg -i logi..... all my players then disconnect every second or two. Please help :) I'm up and running on 8.1.1 again, but would like to understand how to get to 8.2. Many thanks.
