It was A-OK until I upgraded from 8.2.0~1616690655.
Everything looks normal from the Slimp3 end but there's no audio output.
These are logged when changing tracks [or 10:59:25 - playing a stream]

A packet capture shows no audio going to the Slimp3, just packets once a
second which I assume are screen updates.
Squeezelite clients are working fine.
