Not a Mac user, but your description is a bit vague. When you say "It doesn't see it" what is "It". Do you have music already in your LMS library from your local disk? LMS can't work with multiple root directories for your collection, so you'd either have to put everything on the local drive or on the additional drive, or, but that's a bit more advanced, make a junction on either one to the other one.
