Found out it's not just the one album I originally posted about. There
are more (see added screen shots). This is now more than a curiosity. I
upgraded LMS to v8.2. Still happens. It happens in three separate
browsers (see screen shots; from left to right, Chromium, Opera,
Firefox). It happens on two operating systems. It must be an LMS issue
then and not browser/OS dependent. But it's not the actual UI for this
happens in both the old default and the new Material, so whatever is
awry is between the library and the browser.
The library must be fine because all tracks and cover appear in the
library and I can drill down into their library data and see file data
and Tag data for them (see second screen shot showing the tracks that
should be visible in the current playlist but are not). I confirm that
data is correct by the way.
I enabled DEBUG logging for all 'player' items in the logging config and
this is what I see in the log when adding the Pinnock Messiah (which is
what's in the screen shots):
