I am working on updating my OS, it is work in progress. At this moment I
can dual boot between Lubuntu 16.04 and Linux Mint 20.3 XFCE. But being
a perfectionist it always takes me quite some time to tweak a new system
to my likings. For example, on my newly build Linux Mint XFCE server I
have now certain access right problems when remotely accessing this
server, while i do not have these problem when booting into my existing
Lubuntu 16.04.

On the other hand, according to https://ubuntu.com/about/release-cycle
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS gets "Extended Security Maintenance" support until
early 2026...

Thank you very much for adding back perl 5.22! I can confirm that
Logitech Media Server Version: 8.3.0 - 1641914771 @ Tue 11 Jan 2022 is
now working on my system with perl 5.22.

With respect to my other question about updating perl on an existing
system: I read on multiple places that it is a bad idea to replace an
existing system perl version with a new perl version because of
dependencies. It is advised to add a new perl version while keeping the
old one, and that is what I did.
=> Does anybody know about a way to tell LMS that it should use the
newly installed /usr/local/bin/perl version instead of the default
system perl version?

[PS: I recently came across an AAC radio stream that does not play on my
existing Linux system with perl 5.22, while it does play on the new
(work in progress) Linux system that comes with perl 5.30. So it is
clear that I need to move to a more recent perl version, either by
making use of a new perl version installed on my existing system, or by
moving to a new OS that comes with a recent perl version.]
