It has probably gone forever.
There is an option inside Samba that implements a Network Drive Recycle
Bin. If you have this switched on then a deleted file goes there for a
period of time until permanently deleted.
A new Recycle Bin appears in Windows Explorer in the mapped drive.
Out of the box the Samba inside VB does not include this and there is
nowhere inside the web gui to enable it. To do so you’d need to first
check that the version of samba that’s installed supports it and then
ssh to the VB and use the command line to enable it.
Search the VB forum. The subject must have come up before. Unfortunately
the VB forum isn’t very active these days.
