Hi all,
I am going to repurpouse a 12 years old NAS box (Thecus N4200 with Intel
AtomĀ® D510, 4 SATA bay) to be used mainly as a Logitech Media Server
setup with various Raspberry Pi (and a couple of Seagate Dockstars)
running Squeezelite around the house and office.
Since the NAS box is actually a PC upgraded to 4GB RAM, 32GB CF for
boot/rootfs, 4x2TB hard drives attached to an hardware RAID controller
for data (unused by Thecus firmware, while I will use it instead), I can
actually choose whatever linux distro I prefer to run on it. I plan to
run the NAS headless (set aside the installation process) so I do not
need any window environment.
I have nice experience installing, configuring and throubleshooting
Ubuntu server, ARCH Linux, some FreeBSD and some Debian.

Then comes the hard question: what linux distro would you choose to run
LMS and why?

Thanx in advance for your opinion folks!

Paolo.
